I am very excited to be using WordPress for my blogging now. I hope you like the new look as much as I do. I have been pretty busy lately, as many of you know. The Mid-South Baby Expo was last week and I had an incredible response by those who stopped by my table. It was fun sharing my passion for photography and people! It is so important for me to connect with my clients so that they feel comfortable enough to be themselves around me. I truly feel that this is just as important as the gear I bring to a shoot. When people are comfortable and themselves, they are radiant in their images! I have 3 shoots coming up this next week, so be ready for some more posts then!
month: March 2007
to the Mid-South Baby Expo on March 24th from 10:00-3:00 at the Agricenter! This is where expectant and new parents can find “pertinent educational resources” within our community. There will be seminars, contests, a fashion show and vendors. For more information, you can go to the Mid-South Baby Expo website.
I will have a booth there and would love to meet you and show you more of my work. I will have a slide show and album from a recent birth session! Stop by and say hello!
I am thrilled to announce that as of today, I have been approved to be included as a photographer for the American Child Photographers Charity Guild.
This is quite a privilege in my opinion, as it is such an honor to be allowed to serve families in need. For those of you who have never heard of this incredible organization, it “is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization of child photographers from all over the nation who have come together to form a guild dedicated to children in need and their families.” Please visit their site to find out more about this wonderful organization.
For the last two Saturdays I have gone and worked as an assistant to my friend and fantastic photographer Jake Morrow (thestudioj.com) at his first two weddings of the year. I have had a total blast doing it. I have no interest in giving up all of my Saturdays and being under that kind of pressure, so it’s always fun to go and help out when I can. Both couples let us play with them, meaning, they gave us total creative license to try some untraditional. You can check out some of the favorite images from their weddings at www.studiojblog.com. Thanks to Jake for letting me tag along!
