month: December 2007

This morning I worked on a personal project of mine (more about that in the future, hopefully) and found the perfect little model in Ellen.  You will recognize her from a family shoot that I had with the whole family in early December.  We had the opportunity to shoot inside my dream building (well, except for the location).  It was just fantastic!  The light in there is so yummy and I love exposed brick on the walls!  Ellen wore the second frilly skirt that I have and is ready for Valentine’s Day already!  ;)  For those of you looking for a little something different as a Valentine’s gift, how about a sweet baby portrait like these to give out to loved ones?

And, the family looked so cute that I thought I would throw this one in for some fun!

A big thanks to Robert Taylor at Lewis & Rasberry for helping me out with the location!  I only wish I could buy the whole place!  :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Hannukah!  Before the holidays I had the chance to finally take Avery out to my favorite field at Shelby Farms.  Her mom & I had been planning this shoot for quite some time, but our schedules just wouldn’t allow it until this particular day.

I got these fun, frilly skirts and Avery was the perfect girly-girl to give one a whirl!   She has so much personality and charm, you just gotta love her!  She was an awesome little model and really turned on the charm for me!  Anyhow, here are a few images from our session together on what turned out to be a pretty cold day…

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of photographing little Levi, who was only one week old.  I have known Levi’s mom & Grandparents since his mom was in high school.  We always knew that Rachel would making an amazing mom & we were not disappointed.  Levi is already greatly loved by many! He has such a wonderful family!  What a joy to see such a sweet little one enter into this family.  While I was there, Levi’s Great-Grandma came by to have her first official portrait made with him.  It turned out to be one of the most beautiful images I have ever documented.  Congratulations, Kyle & Rachel!  You have a beautiful boy!

On Saturday I had the joy of spending my morning with Brent, Emily, Sarah Catherine and Ellen.  At their consult, we realized that the best option for their family was a lifestyle shoot, as they really wanted to document who they are as a family.  So, that being said, we started our day at Gibson’s Donuts in East Memphis, as it is a part of their family culture.  After a fun breakfast, we headed back over to their house and spent a relaxed morning getting a variety of shots that really show them as they live.  They are a fabulous, caring family that adores each other and their images are proof of that.  I had an incredible time and they are making my job very hard when it comes to editing!  :)
Here is a selection from the morning…

I put up a few more than usual, but really couldn’t have left any out here today.  Thank you so much for allowing me into your world!  It was certainly a privilege!

Starting in January 2008, I will be offering 2 new albums from an incredible company called FINAO.  What is FINAO, you ask?  Well their name stands for what they believe in ~ “Failure Is Not An Option.”  These are gorgeous albums!  I am currently waiting for my samples and will get images posted as soon as I can, but was just too excited to wait to tell you!  For now, you can check out their website.  The offer 3 different lines, the ONE, Upper Elements and the Elements.  You’ll also see that they sell another type of album, Seldex, on their site.  I will not be offering that line at this time.

These will be perfect for your portrait sessions!  I can’t wait to show them to you!  Have a great week!
