month: January 2008

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I have no idea how it is that I get to work with so many incredibly cute and fun families! Friday was no exception. I’d like you to meet Gordie, Courtney and their sweet little Louisa. This little one is 4-months old and has the most incredible hair! It’s soft as silk, too! Anyhow, we were hoping to also go outside, but it was RAW out there! I think it was the coldest day last week, so we opted to stay inside where it was cozy and warm. I had a great time and I hope they did too! Their images are fantastic and I can’t wait to show them all to them soon! For now, guys, here is a taste of my favorites…

At first, Louisa wasn’t too sure about the big black camera…

but we let her relax and hang out in one of her favorite places…

and she started to warm up to the process a bit more…

Once she tired out on us, it was mom & dad’s turn!

Oh how I wish I could show you the whole series of these, as they were a blast as we worked to get this natural smile! (You’ll see them soon, I promise!)

OK, you can see one more in the group…

These two kids are so cute & in-love!

So, I put up more than I planned, but it was such a great session that I just had to do a little more! :) Thanks for a great shoot, Gordie & Courtney!

I made this fun slideshow to show you some of the best of Kiralisa for 2007. It is certainly not exhaustive, but I thought it was kind of a fun exercise for me to learn how to add one of these to my blog. ;)

Yesterday, in 40 degree temperatures, I went with Wyatt and his mommy downtown to do his 6-month portrait session.  You may remember him from his newborn session and his mom is the pregnant woman at the top of this page.  :)  They are a gorgeous family and so easy to photograph, I tell ya!  We had fun and shot mostly inside Peabody Place, trying to avoid the cold, but the session turned out so great that I’m having a hard time keeping from posting just a few.  So, instead, you’re just going to have to look at lots of pictures of this little cutie!

So I’ve been back for a little over a week now and it has been a whirlwind of a to-do list! I learned so much at the convention that I went to that it almost seem impossible to digest it all. I began a To-Do list of things that I need to do to catch up and move forward with new changes. I wrote the list on legal sized paper and it went almost down to the bottom! Yikes! The good news is that I’ve crossed off nearly all of it. You will soon see an updated look on my website, new colors and hopefully there will even be improvement in my work! :)
I also want to go ahead and announce that I will be hosting a Matilda Jane trunk show Feb.29-March 3. These are adorable clothes for girls and super-cute skirts for mom! Take a look and if you’d like more information, please email me at lisa@kiralisa.com. Put it on your calendar, ladies! You won’t want to miss it!

In February, I will be highlighting Love Affair sessions! I have had so many parents telling me that they wish that they had had romantic shots of themselves from when they were engaged, or that they have been married for many years and haven’t had a portrait made of just the two of them since their wedding. Well, I’d like to change that! To me, these relationships should be celebrated! This would make a fantastic Valentine’s Gift! So, hubby’s that might be reading this, surprise your sweety with a romantic photo shoot! And ladies, send this to your husband if you think he’s not already reading it! Ha Ha! :)

I’ll be posting a few more in the weeks to come! Have a great week!

Hi guys!

I am in Tampa until Monday night for a photography convention!  I am learning a lot and having a blast meeting so many others who are as in love with this business as much as I am.  I am sure my family is happy to have a break from having to listen to me talk about photography for a few days.  ;)  I miss them all a ton and will be back and available for phone calls and email beginning on Wednesday. (Tuesday I am taking a personal day to re-connect with the kiddos after 5 days being gone.)  Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll talk to you soon!
