I never in a million years thought that I would be writing this. In fact, last month I was thinking that January and February would be super slow and I would just be working on updating my website and new materials for the year like many other photographers around the country. I’ve recently heard one photographer name those two months “Admin Season.” Well, that is not the case here. I am 100% booked for the month of February. So, for those of you who have been thinking about a Spring session, remember Easter is in March this year so you will want to start booking now for March and April! They will fill up quickly.
Now, since I have been trying to not post without also posting some pictures, how about a few fun shots of my own kiddos from an afternoon at the park?

And, here’s a lesson in good light v. bad light. Jack really wanted to sit on top of the rocks that supported a sign and have me take his picture. The light was harsh and horrible. (Remember when we were told that if it was sunny outside it was perfect for pictures?)

And now here is how much better it looks when you move to open shade which is right next to bright sun…

So, there’s a tip for you when taking shots of your own family. Move to open shade that is on the edge of bright sun.
Finally, the emotional life of a nearly 2-year old… These two shots were taken less than 30 seconds apart. Also note that my child does not actually look like a cartoon character, but when you get up close with a wide lens, it can sometimes end up looking like one! Ha Ha!

Ahh, the joy of being a toddler! Have a great week!
