month: September 2008

I have had a few calls and emails regarding a second date for the holiday card mini-sessions due to conflicts in scheduling.  I am considering opening up some times on October 25th if there is enough interest.  If you are one of those who would love to have a mini-session but your family wasn’t available on the 11th, please email me at lisa@kiralisa.com and let me know.  I will open the date up when I have at least 4 families.

Also, I will be posting the full gallery of card samples later this week, so be sure to check back here for the link!

On Saturday I had the most wonderful time photographing Teresa.  She has recently had braces removed and was ready for her “close up.”  :-)  She is such a beautiful woman, inside and out!  I was excited to do something special for her!

But, before we get to the pictures, I have to give a big thank you to my daughter, Olivia, who came along to assist me.  She is almost 9 years old and she is so interested in everything I do, I have been really proud of her and how much she has been learning!  She is getting to be quite the wizard with the reflector!  Thank you, Little Bit!

So, now on to the lovely Ms. Teresa!

Thank you for being so patient, Teresa!  I know you’ve been waiting this whole week to see some previews!  Today is the first day I have been able to get out of bed long enough to sit at my computer!  :-)  Have a great weekend!

I promised some samples and did not want to disappoint.  These are all from last year, but I have been feeling pretty crummy this week, so making extra samples of new cards was not in the cards.  ;-)  I will work on that soon, though.  I promise.

Here are a few!

I think I may have sized some of these incorrectly, but I’ve got to go, as we’re trying to go out and celebrate a friend’s birthday tonight.  We’ll see how long I last.

Yes, that’s right. I know it’s only September, but it’s time to start planning for your holiday portraits and cards. I will be having a Saturday of Mini-sessions just for this on October 11th in the old town square of Arlington. There is a little something for everyone there all within walking distance from traditional to edgy.

Q/A:

How long does a mini-session last? 20 minutes

How many people can be included? Up to 4. If you have more, you will need to purchase 2 back to back sessions.

Are the holiday cards included? Your first set of 24 are included. Additional sets can be purchased- prices vary depending on the number of sets. You will choose from several templates, but custom cards can be designed for an additional $50 design fee.

What if it rains? I will try to have the shoot on the following day, if weather permits.

How many images will I get to choose from? For a single mini-session you can expect to see 10-15 final images to choose from. If you have back to back session, you can expect 25-30.

How much will it cost? $125

Appointments will be on a first come first serve basis and you must sign up and pay your session fee in advance to get on the calendar that day. Call me this week to reserve your time slot first and I will waive the custom design fee for one of a kind cards! 901-428-3026. (This offer expires on Monday, September 15th at 5pm.)

I will post samples later this week of some of the new card designs! I know you’ll love them!

Then come out to the Germantown Festival and check out the frames from Simply Squared.  Many of them will feature my images from this past year, so you may see yourself or your loved one!  And, I must say, man they look good!!!!  It’s a good time for the whole family, so come and see us and spend a few hours having fun with the kids!

See you there!

To celebrate Graeme & Polly’s 40th Anniversary, their kids decided to gift them a family portrait session.  This was the largest group, outside of second shooting at weddings and helping with groupings there, that I have photographed.  The family was a delight.  Chris and Emily came in from England.  Dominic, Claire and their two little ones, Benjamin and Ella came in from Seattle.  So, it was also a bit of a family reunion.

Here are a few from their session…
