month: March 2009

So, those of you who follow my blog will remember Lorelai from her America’s Cutest Kid mini-session.  She didn’t want to have anything to do with having her picture made that day, so we took the one shot we got and I told her mom I’d make it up to her with a follow-up mini-session for Lorelai and her brother.  We were both hoping that having RJ there would help her to relax and want to participate.

I went straight from photographing the twins in my previous post to Collierville Town Square to meet up with these two cuties!  Lorelai still didn’t want to play with us, but came around in the last 5-10 minutes, so we were able to even get a few smiling ones.  :-)  Funny thing, I preferred most of these images in black & white as well!  I’ve included a few color ones, but my favorites are definitely in black & white!!!

I’ll show the color ones first…

I am still trying to play catch up, as I have been working this past week to try and get everything transferred over to my new computer.  I’m almost done with that, so hopefully I won’t be so bad at blogging.

Not long ago, I did a quick session with two adorable twins, Hailey & Mattie.  They were born a month before and have yet to make their due April date, but are beautiful and healthy!  We did manage to get them to sleep, but they were not too much in the mood for being super bendy, which is not unusual for their age!

I decided to do their session in black & white, as it seemed to be most fitting for their images.  Here are just a few…

So, I am still playing catch up and have more to go!  This is Julia.  She is currently leading the Memphis votes for the NILMDTS fundraiser, “America’s Cutest Kid” contest.  As you can tell from the images, Julia is a little shy, but she definitely came around to play with me a bit.  :)  I photographed her in Collierville Town Square, which is always fun!

Don’t forget to go and vote for your favorite nominee here!

I know I am way behind on updating my blog, but I’ve been a little busy lately, so it’s been on the back burner.  The perfect place to start catching up is with sweet Levi.  I have photographed him for the past year in my baby’s first year program and it’s been fun to watch him grow.  He and his parents are just awesome!  We finished his year with a mostly lifestyle shoot in their home, although we did go outside in the end and take a few portraits too.  You’re going to love his big blue eyes and gorgeous red hair!

Here he is!

See what I mean?  :-)

Now wasn’t that worth the wait?  He’s so stinkin’ cute!!!!  :-)

All 7 of my clients entered for the America’s Cutest Kid fundraising event for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep are now availble for voting!!!!  If you do not have a child entered, please go and help us raise some money for this wonderful organization by voting for one of my 7 clients!  You will see my name in the image title, so pick a favorite and throw a little love their way.  You can vote/donate as much as you’d like.  Each vote costs $1.  Voting is open until April 2nd!

Kayla is one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met.  She is just one of those sweet souls and I think you’ll see it in her beautiful images.  We had to fight the wind, but neither of us were going to complain since it was nearly 75 degrees!!!  We started out by the Wolf River and then went down to Quetzal’s, which ended up closing at 4:15 as we were arriving!  Go figure!  We made the best of it though and enjoyed the adventure!

I played around with some new textures, so you’ll all have to leave a comment and tell me what you think about it!

Here is Kayla…

Here is the link if you would like to vote for Attison and support NILMDTS!  Please! Please!  Please! Take the time this week and vote for one of my clients.  I have been told that they should all be up and live for voting by Monday night!  The vote leader for our city will be asked to be a model for Sandy Puc at her seminar here in town on Thursday!!!!!

I have been so busy lately, that I have been absolutely horrible at blogging!  I have finished shooting the mini-sessions for the “America’s Cutest Kid” contest that is the fundraiser for the awesome organization, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, that I volunteer for.  I will have all 7 kids live on their voting website later this week and will post the link when they are ready.  I hope you will support NILMDTS by going there when I do and choosing your favorite of my clients and donate to the organization by voting for one of them!

Here are some great shots from those sessions~

And finally, Lorelai, who had no interest in letting go of her mom, but we managed to get a sweet, half cry/half smile shot.  We’ll be finishing her mini-session on another day, but will submit this photo for her into the contest.  She has the most intense blue eyes!  They’re just insanely beautiful!

I have one more client to edit before posting her images here, but it’ll be worth the wait!  Little Julia is adorable!!!!!

As an adoptive mom myself, I have decided to throw a little photographic love towards other adoptive families.  So, I have decided that I will begin donating one session per month to recent adoptive families.  To qualify, you must be able to prove that your family has adopted a child within the last 6 months.   These sessions will be limited to one hour at a single location and families will received a DVD of 15-20 final images.

So!  To launch this little bit o’ love, here are a few images from my first session with the Carroll family and their newest addition!

I am looking to add multiples (twins or triplets) to my newborn portfolio.  If you know of someone who is due to deliver in March or this summer after my own maternity leave, please forward my information on to them.  I will provide the session and an 11×14 of my favorite image at no cost to them.  This offer is only open to neborns aged 0-4 weeks.

Thank you for your help!  I look forward to showing off some beautiful new shots with these!
