You may have already seen this, but I thought it would be good to post if you haven’t already.  Social networking is here to stay and is already in our verbage.  Check it out.  There are some very interesting statistics in here.

For the life of me tonight, I can’t figure out how to embed this into my page, so here is the link until I figure it out.

Oh yeah, and feel free to follow me on

I have recently found a new framing company that I think we will all love!  It is a line created by a photographer in Montana, Alicia Caine, that found it difficult to find good quality custom frames at a reasonable price.  Her line is called Escentual Frame.  Frame prices start at $35 and includes shipping.   Please be sure to take a look and call or email me for more detailed pricing information.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Last Thursday I was with some dear friends, Rick & Heather, for the birth of their 2nd child.  I photographed their first birth with Jaxon, so of course, we had to document round 2.  I have only pulled a few from the actual day, so as not to gross anyone out too much  :-), but I have also included a few from this week when I went back to their home to take a few portraits.

Here we go!

She looks so much like her big brother!

Congratulations to you all and welcome to the world Miss Ashlyn!  We love you already!

Yesterday, our dear friends, Derrick and MarKathy, welcomed Diana Elise into this world on a beautiful Spring day.  She was 9lbs 1 oz and 20.5 inches long.  Kathy was in labor for 2 days before having to deliver by c-section, and had invited me to be there with the family for the day.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to photograph the birth, for obvious reasons, but did shoot for most of the day, including Diana’s first portraits.  She is beautiful and already just so sweet.  There are many more images than I usually post, but I thought I would tell more of the story of their day.  Also, you will notice that I prefer less processing on these images, as I feel it is better suited for this type of event.  :-)
Congratulations to D, Kathy & big brother, Max!  We love you guys!

The quiet before the storm~

Action started to pick up throughout the day…

Kathy trying to catch a few z’s before the big moment.  After 24 hours of labor already, she was pretty beat, but absolutely adorable.  ;)

A proud papa introducing his son to his new little sister~

The precious little girl at just over an hour old~

Look at all this hair!

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love baby feet!  :)

Diana got to warm up under the heater before her first bath in the nursery~

Here comes the bath~

We’ve got to give props to the nurses at Germantown Methodist- they are phenomenal at what they do!  You will not find a better, more caring staff of hospital nurses!  They were completely full and yet Kathy never had to wait for anything and was so well taken care of!  Thank you so much for how you cared for my dear friend and her family!

Nice and warm and cuddling with Auntie Heather~

Welcome, precious little girl!  We all love you!

Some of you may remember that I photographed Jaxon’s birth.  Well, he is 6 months old now and such a handsome boy!  We went downtown so that we could get at least one shot in front of the Forum, as his daddy is the announcer for the Grizzlies.  I must give a huge thank you to my oldest daughter, Olivia, who came along to assist me and did a fabulous job!  She is so great with babies and really enjoyed being a part of mommy’s work.  :)
So, here you go…on to the images!

Cracking up at Olivia’s silliness~

Hanging out with his beautiful mommy~

My favorite of the day…

And finally, a little experiment with a red door at a church downtown…

I will be blogging by the end of the week with more details about my fundraiser for the MDA, so check back again this weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

On Friday I had the privilege of documenting the birth of little Jaxon. What a dear, sweet time and a precious baby! We are thrilled for his parents, Heather and Rick, and know that their family will be forever blessed with his presence in their lives. I am posting a few pictures here, but am keeping most of them private for the family. Tomorrow I will be shooting Jaxon’s first portraits in his home and will post more of those later in the week! Congratulations to the whole family!
