Kim and Ronnie are anxiously awaiting the birth of their new daughter.  While they are waiting, we took the time to take some maternity portraits to celebrate how absolutely beautiful Kim is.  I can’t wait to photograph their daughter, Madison.  I’m sure she will be just as adorable as her mommy and daddy.

Last month I had the most delightful opportunity to do something a little different.  I photographed the kids class picture for Sproutlets Preschool in Arlington.  I’m telling you, this pre-school is phenomenal! I wish it were closer to my own house!  Alicia, the owner and teacher, is smart, caring, professional- well, let’s just say I could go on and on in saying nothing but nice things about her program.  It is top notch!

So, she wanted something a little less traditional for the group picture and then we went to the Arlington Playground of Dreams, which is so cool, for individual shots of the 6 kids in her class.  They are all so sweet and we really wanted to capture their individuality and personalities.

On to the pictures!

I am dreadfully behind on blogging right now, so you should see quite a bit coming up in the next several days.  A little while back I had the privilege of photographing a beautifully pregnant woman named Carmen!  She is so delightful and so much fun to work with!  You’ll see it instantly in her images!  She rocked it out with her wonderful husband out at Shelby Farms on a gorgeous evening!

I know these two are going to have the most beautiful little boy soon and I can’t wait to photograph him before I head out to California.  Here are a few from her day…

How cute will he be?

And if you’re wondering where she got the fabulous dress, she bought it at Haute Mama in Germantown!  Doesn’t she look just fabulous????  :-)

A few days ago I went out with the very fun couple Michelle and Jeff for her maternity session. We wanted to make some beautiful images and I think we’ve definitely accomplished that! :)
I’ve been pretty busy with family in town, but wanted to get some up as soon as I could. You guys were a blast to work with and I can’t wait to see this baby! I guarantee it’ll be adorable!

And I’ve saved the best for last! Isn’t she absolutely GORGEOUS?????

I know it’s been a while since I have blogged, but I have been very busy editing for all of the sessions that I had last month and have just recently caught up!  Hurray!  So, in addition to that I have added a new fun feature to the blog.  Just below my bio and picture above, you should see a place where you can subscribe by email and have blog updates sent to you!  I haven’t yet had the chance to try everything that can be done with that particular application, but am looking forward to expanding the ways we can communicate with you!

I am almost fully booked for the month of May and will be having surgery the first week of June, so please be aware that if you are considering a session soon, you should call now to reserve your date.  Another announcement that needs to be made is that prices will be increasing in July upon my return from our family vacation.  If you would like to book a session at current prices (both for session fees and print prices), whether it be for a summer or fall session, call now.  I will honor current prices for any session booked prior to the July 12th price change.

Now, since I have been trying to include images with every post, I thought I would include some extra shots from my two last sessions.

First off is Chelsea, one of my senior ambassadors.  We finished our shoot at the Cordova Skate Park, which is closing at the end of May unfortunately.  She hangs out there with her friends on the weekends, so we thought it would make a great backdrop to some fun shots.  Here are a few favorites that I really like from that part of the shoot.

I love my new friend, the ring flash- it’s what gives the cool look to these shots:

This one just screams Chelsea-

And we thought we’d play with multiple exposures.  Thanks to Travis, who is feature in this next one, Jack, and Colton for letting us use you as props and to Josh, the owner for giving us full run of the skate park for a few hours.  We had a blast!

The other session I thought we would revisit today is Sara Beth’s maternity session.  She’s just too lovely not to post more of!

She and her husband, Nathan, were a blast!

This last shot came from inspiration from another photographer, although I can’t remember who.  I saw something similar a few months back and thought it was a fun idea and that we should give it a try!

So, that’s it for now.  Give me a call if you are thinking of booking for a session soon!  Spots will be filling up with Class of ‘09 seniors very soon and space is limited this summer!

In the middle of all of this senior session craziness, I had the opportunity to do a maternity session for a fellow Memphis photographer, Sara Beth Raab of Southern Design Studio. She is one of the most photogenic people I have ever met. I don’t think she could take a bad picture if she tried. We had so much fun and even got her husband to smile!

Here are a few from that session…

How fun is this bike? It is exactly the kind of bike I would have if I had one right now. Maybe Mother’s Day? :) Sara Beth still rides it while taking her sweet doggie for a walk!

After having to re-schedule two times because of the weather last week, Kathy and I were finally able to get out in some beautiful weather yesterday and have a fantastic session together!  She is such a sweet heart, and as my daughter says, a beautiful young mom to be!  We had to scale some ideas down a bit, as her doctor has now put her on a more restful schedule, but I think she rocked it!

Here are a few favorites~

Thank you, Kathy for being such a good sport!  You absolutely rocked those rain boots! :)

I only have a minute to get this posted before leaving for my women’s retreat this weekend, so I’ll keep it brief.  Teresa is surprising her husband with these images and we had a blast while working together.  Part of their story includes the Madison Hotel in downtown Memphis.  The wonderful Donna Pope, the Madison’s Hotel Sales Director, graciously helped us with a room to shoot in for part of this session, and may I say, that if you ever have the opportunity to stay at this incredible hotel, do so.  It is gorgeous and the staff is just fantastic.  The rooms are nothing short of beautiful and provided a great place to get some of Teresa’s yoga shots.

Here are some of the shots…

feelin’ the pickle zen…

She is just glowing and so beautiful~

And I dare any of you to try this…I can’t do it and I’m not pregnant!

In the amazing bathroom windows, with room to spare…

and this one may be my favorite~

Teresa, I love working with you!  You make my job easy!  Thanks for letting us have some fun yesterday!  I can’t wait for you to see the rest and to share these with William!

I spoke with Kelly today and she gave birth to Wyatt on July 5th at around 3 o’clock in the afternoon after a very long day of labor.  Wyatt was 8lbs 12oz and 221/2 inches long!!!!  (Ohhhh, if I got those details wrong, I’m so sorry!  As we talked about earlier on the phone, my memory just isn’t what it used to be!  :)  I really need to remember to write things down more!  Ha Ha!) I can’t wait to meet him when I go to shoot his first of four shoots this next year!  I’m sure he is quite beautiful and sweet just like his mommy and daddy!  Congratulations to you and your family!

I am so excited to finally announce that my maternity gallery is up and running on my website.  There are 4 very beautiful woman on there so far and it was hard choosing.  I really enjoy doing these and will be adding some images from Cayce’s session once I am able to work through them.  Plus, Cayce and I will be in Houston together next week for a photography seminar by David A. Williams (an amazing Aussie photographer) and I am hoping to try some fun new things there with her as well.  So, have a look and let me know what you think!
